The small sardines (petingas), of which there are 10 in this can, are served with a sauce of red pepper, chili pepper and garlic. The sauce has a creamy texture and an attractive color. Its slightly spicy flavor doesn't mask the flavor of the sardines or any of the other ingredients.
This preserve is prepared by hand, far from mass production, following the recipe of resident chef Luís Baena and nutritionist Inês Nogueira, using selected fish and local ingredients.

More informations about the production process ?
A can of petingas bravas contains around 10 small pre-cooked sardines which are individually placed in the can and presented according to the required standards. The sauce is entirely prepared in the kitchen at the production site, then placed in each can. Each tin is individually sealed, washed, sterilized and carefully packed.
