In 1930, Fernando da Silva Ferreira began his career as an employee in a Portuguese canning factory. His entrepreneurial spirit quickly led him to acquire a one-third stake in the company where he worked.

By 1942, he renamed the company Conserveira de Lisboa and continued expanding the cannery through the 1970s. By then, Minor had become an integral part of everyday life in Portugal.

In 1988, Fernando da Silva Ferreira decided it was time to retire, and his son, Armando José Cabral Ferreira, naturally took over. In 2004, his children, Tiago Ferreira and Maria Manuel Ferreira, became the fourth generation to carry the family legacy forward.
